Welcome

The Ouray Nordic Council is made up of a group of volunteers who share a great appreciation for the natural amenities in our backyard. In the winter that means Nordic skiing, sharing a great day with family, friends, and pets. However you like to get out in the snow, Ironton and the North Corridor trail are a great way to get outside. Please checkout our website, and then get out and enjoy the trails!

Most of the work is done by volunteers, and all money raised is put directly into equipment, signs, trail improvements, and maintenance of this great area. We would love to have you as a member; members get grooming reports a day before the general public! Click on the “Join us” link, and thank you!

ANNOUNCEMENT

The Winter Wildlands Alliance is excited to invite you to a Nordic Skiing & Winter Stewardship Day they are hosting on Sunday, February 15, from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM at Ironton Ski Area!

This event is a casual but meaningful opportunity to bring together winter recreation partners, local skiers, and land managers. We’ll kick off with brief talks from the Colorado Mountain Club/USFS Snow Rangers and Winter Wildlands Alliance on winter recreation stewardship and the value of community-collected winter use data, then head out for guided crosscountry skiing.
